Best and worst logos in golf
« on: October 20, 2006, 07:53:29 PM » |

So I got paired up with some real equipment snobs today on the course. They were fully logoed everywhere... clubs, bag, hats, shirts, etc. It made me think about how some logos cause a strong reaction from me. This is completely subjective, and I'm sure someone out there is the complete opposite of me, but here's a few that come to my mind. I really dislike the GeekGolf logo even though I love the GeekGolf concept and I'm a huge geek. I like Infiniti's logo a lot. The Snake Eyes logo bugs me even though I've played many of their clubs in the past. The Callaway chevron has been growing on me the last couple of years. I kind of like it. What are you favorite or least favourite logos in golf?

Love my Failsafe, hate the graphics (not just the logo, I hate all the graphics. The color is nice though). I also like Infiniti's logo. I like Wishon's logo, very simple. Titleist's logo just says golf to me. Also like the Cobra logo.

Oh, and Snake eyes' logo has always reminded me of a 9th grader's Graphics class project.

Good call on the Wishon logo, they did a good job with that. Another one that I just thought of is Cleveland Golf. I don't mind the script Cleveland, but I don't like the CG logo.

I agree, Geek's is pretty bad, and it's a shame too, cause Almo designs some of the best stuff around. I think he was trying to be "un-cool" with the brand name and logo on purpose, trying to "stick it to the golf man", but I think that may have been a mistake, since the golf buying public only buys things that are "cool".

Here's another golf logo I just noticed that I don't like. I'm not sure if that's a mole or a seal. Either way, I don't like it.

Nakashima is nice, simple. The Taylor Made T is OK too. Although I like SMT not sure I like either the old or the new logos.

Interesting no one has commented on the Nike Swoosh as yet. Personally, I think it's a great logo.
My other fav is Titleist.
