You fellas sure are a closely knit group here.
not really
a: drudge proven history of repeatedly wrong
b: google news search returns all of 4-5 sites running this 'story' ... none of which are readily verifiable, unbiased, or otherwise trustworthy... i'd like to see this on cnn or foxnews etc
c: story consists of apparently 'leaked' information, hard to verify or trust
(as an engineer, it's hard to imagine how even in a huge mansion that many kwh are used)
d: story has no mention of how those kwh were generated (IGCG, nuclear, old fashioned coal fire, wind, hydro, solar cell, etc) , even if true
e: story makes no mention of how much he has offset with carbon offset purchases
(not that such 100% justifies electricity waste)
f: even if it is 100% true story, and he is an unabashed hypocrite, does that diminish the facts he is arguing? or does that just make him a hypocrite ?
g: what if 180,000 of those kwh are running a massive computer cluster doing climate modeling? would that really be a waste ? (not that I would expect this to be true... but, we don't know the # is true, and if it is true, how it breaks down...)
h: what if all that natural gas is doing cooking on several stoves for a homeless shelter?
etc... the article itself is worthless...
ad nauseam...
z: if he is right, and his movie convinces people... and simultaneously the story is right, and the hypocrisy garners attention, and more people watch it...... and choose to live better lifestyles.... in the end ... is the world a better place for it?
...
ps, i love how the anti-gw crowd has gone from 'there is no gw' to "omg al gore is a hypocrite"
what a truly compelling refutation of science.
