Why I don't venture into those threads anymore - not worth it.

While I sometimes enjoy watching the train wreak it does get old. I have noticed that I can go there twice a week and really not miss anything. Has slowed down there a bit.

There's a good reason I no longer carry any SMT clubs (well aside from the fact that I hated them) and would sell my Geek driver tomorrow if anyone wanted it. They may build the finest clubs in the universe (and if you ask them they'll be happy to confirm it) but I can't stand the egos and the bickering.
A few guys do it the right way, and I'll buy from them. Almo and Tait have enough people lining up to kiss their respective asses anyway, they really don't need me.

While I have an almost full bag of SMT, I did not pay full price for any of them. I did go on the cruise with them and may go to the next event. I will play the equipment that works for me and at the cheapest price I can find. I know you were not directing your comments at me and am not taking it that way. I know Spuzz lives inside Mike's ass sometimes and would have children with him but that is his way. As NASCAR fans have their driver so do golfers. When you find something that works you kind of fall in love with it. I know a lot of people love the 455, I have not had much luck with it. Some people hate the BOM, it worked for me. The debate goes on over who makes better clubs, who had a bigger name in their bag, who's *8==>* is bigger...whatever. Egos collide and sometimes innocent people get in the way. I hold no grudges or boycott anyone unless the reason directly affects me. Everyone has their way. Spacey, I understand the boycott and don't disagree with it. So............. How much for the driver?

You would have sold the FS if you hadn't cut the *feces* out of it with a razor blade. But seriously I stopped reading that thread way before it got out of hand and now most of the posts are deleted. I totally agree with you BTW about their egos and bickering getting annoying. However, I was able to demo just about every component driver and found the DB 455 and Dot Com This worked best for me. Right now the DB 455 is in my bag and will be there for some time to come. It is the only SMT product that I liked and best driver head I have owned. I pre-ordered a FS 2 because it seems to have the best of both worlds between the DCT and FS. I like their products regardless of their actions on FiGS. I'm not going to hate on them or anything because of that. And I've also gotten nice personal emails from both of them in the past. It is a shame however seeing the way their online personas have played out of late.

You would have sold the FS if you hadn't cut the *feces* out of it with a razor blade. Actually I pulled it out the other day and was surprised at how small the scratches really were. I hadn't looked at it in a while and had myself convinced that I'd really destroyed the head. Hell, they're almost hairline in size. I don't begrudge anyone who chooses to play SMT or Geek, or anything else. Personally, carrying their clubs amounts to an endorsement of their PR and Marketing tactics, which arguably is not entirely competitive mudslinging but there's enough of it going on that I can't overlook it. It's probably professional bias, but mud thrown is ground lost. I really like the FS driver, but to be honest I like it no more or less than drivers I've owned from Infiniti and Wishon. (To be fair, I've not tried any SMT drivers but I strongly disliked the Durometer wedges and the Avocet hybrid.)

lol. It's in the swapshop for $75 (head only), but I'm actually open to offers if you're really interested in buying it. Otherwise, it's a fine backup.

I agree completely. Also, when I could care less about something I typically don't post about it.

The pic question was valid though, unfortunately.
The Fable was naughty.
I chuckled, I will do penance later.
Hard to follow that thread now though.
After all those deletions it probably should have been locked there and then.

oddly enough, rickb probably had the best post, along the lines of Spring not being Spring until the first Tait/Almo pissing contest.
