What the hell is doing, soaking them for a week anyway?

It's a one day outpatient procedure.  2 at the most, one for the central line, and one for the pheresis.

This sounds like a platlett donation procedure.  Have done 27 of these procedures.

I am listed as a bone marrow donor and before I agreed to do so, the folks involved told me that I would probably be in the hospital for 2-4 days and require a total 5 to 7 days to recover.  I was told that I would be very sore in the hip region (marrow extracted from the pelvis).  Of course, this info was given to me 10 years ago when I was placed on the donor list.
