This morning I was watching golf, and posting on golfhos, I got Georgia on the bus to school, got in the car, put a cd on, and drove to work.
When I was pulling into Port Douglas, I noticed there was a stream of cars driving out of town.  I got to work, got out of the car, and one of my work friends, said get back into the car, go home, they are evacuating were you live, the schools are closing, and we are not opening today, as a tsunami is supposed to hit the coast anytime soon.
Well I got in the car, drove to Georgia's school to pick her up, and they said the danger time has passed and it should be okay.  Russell said that at Willis Island (weather station) there are no changes in the water, so it is okay.
We are just on a watch/warning now, but it is very creepy, especially when you live about 8 houses from the beach!!!! Shocked Shocked

We were on one here a while ago, after a quaker off the Cali coast.

Read that this morning too... indications so far are for waves of about 2cm... seems the Bureau has said they were being overly conservative in issuing the warning...

Everything okay, and the warning is cancelled.

People were getting in there cars, and driving up to the hills!!!!True!!!!! Grin
