I don't believe racism was involved here, I think the white kids didn't want anyone else to see them dance.

Did the kids who were neither white nor black not get a prom before?

Can't we all just get along.
That's seriously f'd up that they are just now integrating races into one prom. I mean in my HS back in the 90s we had two different cafeterias. Unofficially the white kids used the new one and minorities used the old one. It was kind of weird yeah but at least we had only one prom for dorks of all types to attend.

'Yet Turner County High already has defied tradition this year. The school abandoned its practice of naming separate white and black homecoming queens. Instead, a mixed-race student was named the county’s first solo homecoming queen.'
Judgement of Solomon.
Incredible.

Proms are ghey. We had a kegger instead and invited the minorities. They were apprehensive at first but eventually a bunch of white kids showed up.

The minorities at that school in GA are the white kids too. Yeah, but they don't know oppression like I know oppression. I spent three years running scared of a Tongan chick who wanted to kick my ass. (seriously) Ah, those were the days. The sportos, the motorheads, geeks, *trollop*s, bloods, waistoids, dweebies, *8==>*heads - they all adored me. They thought I was a righteous dude.

Proms are ghey. We had a kegger instead. Werd. Held the kegger at a little place the locals called "Beer Bottle Beach" I think we had only like 4 ummmm African American kids in high school, but I'm sure we invited them, we are so PC, even in the 80's we were PC.
