I mailed ours today, too, and had a surprisingly short wait (5 min.).

I've been using a post office near my work which has the "deli-counter, take-a-ticket" type thing, which is much smoother than the post office near home.  People grab a ticket, then fill out their forms and prep their packages/letters while they're waiting.

At the other post office, everyone gets in line and fills out the forms when they reach the counter/clerk.  Angry

Blech.  If I had that money back I could buy a $720K home in California.

It's not so bad though.  At least the mailbox didn't rise up and kick my ass.  It happens.

Mine took longer at the counter than getting to the counter.  Not that the transaction was complicated -- I just like screwing over the people waiting in line behind me.
