Craziest Bogey ever...

One of the guys I was playing with on Saturday, made what I beleive to be the craziest bogey I've ever seen.
5th Hole Sunshine Golf Club, Par 4 237 Mtrs (260 yrds in the old language). I'm through the back of the green with 3 wood. The other two are in the fairway short. The last guy tees it up and hits his ball into a tree about 20 Mtrs in front and to the right of the tee. The ball comes back towards the tee, past the ladies tee, past the mens tee, rolls off the tee onto the path next to the tee. The ball rolls under one cart (buggy/push cart) then hits his cart.
Firstly he owes us all a round of drinks for not hitting past the ladies tee.
Secondly he gets a two shot penalty for hitting his cart. At this point he's playing 4 and he's further back than when he started.
He takes a drop off the path and hits his hybrid and finishes about 50 Mtrs short of the green.
We finally get it together and pick ourselves off the ground from laughing and make our way up to the green.
On the way tree guy is playing his 5th shot.... and you guessed it sports fans he holed out for bogey 5!!!!...
Dude hits the ball three times and makes 5....LOL... Craziest Bogey ever...
Oh and the beer after the round was good...LOL

Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice!
I love short par 4's like that!
Y'know in re-reading your story I'm not sure that he doesn't incur a penalty for hitting his cart?
Nope.. the kind folk at the Royal & Ancient have ajudged that he does incur a two shot penalty for hitting his cart. It's funny but it does happen quite regularly...LOL

So, I'm confused, about what the confusion is.
The cart was at rest. He hit it. 2 stroke penalty.
Or am I missing it?

2iron says that the R&A does not deem it a penalty to strike a cart, just one of those rules where the USGA & the R&A disagree on. LOL! That's what I thought. Go back, and re read his post brother.
