so, long story short, with finishing my thesis last year, then not having a position immediately after (I had counted on one...) my may06 or so dental cleaning never happened. I of course got dental coverage again here @ pitt, but couldnt manage to schedule anything with the place i like until now. so basically i'd been 18 months without a cleaning or xrays. anyways, the hygienist said that she was amazed how good of shape my teeth and gums were in (except the one spot I can never brush very well at the top of my front teeth) and that I was lucky to not be in bad shape like most people would be who come through their office. come to think of it, the 'session' with the pick-thing was shorter than most of the times i remmeber it being.... anyways, xrays were perfect (or as could be anyways) and the dentist said nothing to worry about, but didn't recommend i do that again.
so what's the point? thank you oral-b toothbrush I bought a few months ago
