Mum and step-father up for dinner. Gift cert to Smith's Marketplace (it'll be used in the nursery section). Nice breakfast fry for the wife. She asked for stuff for Mothers' Day about a month ago and then went out and bought it during the week. I'm thinking about digging the receipt out of her purse and sticking it in the card. Grandmother is no longer with us. Sister, don't have one but I've never thought about going there with the sister-in-law. Above and beyond Teed.

It is my wife's first mother's day so it should be nice. Our son is staying with his grandparents Sat night while we go to our friends' law school graduation party. Then we will go to her parents for some golf and food.
I got her a nightgown and matching robe and a few of the hankie pankies (panties). Also, bottles of her favorite shampoo and conditioner.

After about a week of negotiations, I think that we've decided that Mother's day will be afternoon tea at my grandmother's house.
(Does anybody else find family events require more arduous negotiations than your average labor contract?)

Actually, I think my brothers, my dad, and I will be playing a post-brunch round on Sunday. We have a decent excuse though. Monday is my birthday and we have a tradition of treating each other to birthday rounds (except my dad, whose birthday is in December, but we usually get him out for 18 on Father's Day.) We were going to wait until next week, but my mom encouraged us to go. Who am I to say no to my mom on Mother's Day?

My mom recently found out there's such a thing as a digital picture frame. I think she'd like one as she's always saying that we need to print more pics than we do. Thinking about that.
I'm not sure what else is in the plans. Might go over to see my other grandma in the afternoon - or they (Grandma as well as my aunt and her family) might come here as they sometimes do. My dad's mom is going over to his sister's for lunch. Big question mark ?
