Relax. Pick up a 6 pack on the way home from work, and maybe also a nice relaxing DVD movie to pass the time "until she calls". Can I recommend 'Midnight Express'?

Thank you. I appreciate the advice. As for the DVD selection, I fear that may exacerbate the situation. I'm not sure. You see, being a duly sworn member of the Il(l)iterati, I avoid anything that is considered a cinematic masterpiece. Especially a film, with any cultural, social, political, or human element significance. Definitely one that won 2 oscars. Can I substitue Ishtar?

If my daughter was over in that part of the world and I watched Ishtar, I'd be an emotional trainwreck. Minimally, I wouldn't take a seat in front of the tv on the barcolounger unless I was double wrapped in Depends. Midnight Express is a timeless story about unrequited love...sorta like Romeo and Juliet but not exactly. Ishtar is about camels and the people who ride them....if you know what I mean.

All Clear!
Karen got the email today. She's fine. (as assured by all of you.) She's in a great spot, was welcomed by good people, and has settled in. She's having a blast.
Some dude on on here nailed it. Something about not being able to find a Starbucks, with a decent wi-fi signal.
Sincerest thanks to all of you for your kind words, reassurance, and laughter.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I have some beer to drink. I need to change into a more suitable adult undergarment,as I have a date with Dustin Hoffman.

Stroh,
I am real happy for you and glad to hear that your daughter has confirmed all of our sentiments that she is ok.
Forget what I said about starting to worry about her again because really, that won't happen for at least another couple of days. Your a DAD. That is part of the process!

Even though you can be relatively sure of something, isn't it nice to be reassured of it - especially when the reassurance comes from the one you are concerned about? Glad to hear that things are going well for Savannah.
