Know any Good Children's Educational Site's
« on: May 28, 2007, 03:43:40 PM » |

Can you let me know of any good kids site's for my Georgia. She is eight years old. Her teacher said she can use the sites for her "reading activities etc". I am trying to get her to go on better sites, than "bratz and nickelodeon".
So far I have got her interested in the Australian National Geographic site. Can you recommend any, she likes science as well.

Throwin' some bratz on the grill right now. Mmmmmm, Colosimo's sausage rules. http://www.howstuffworks.com/Awesome site. I'd steer her away from GolfHos.com. She'll pick up bad grammar habits.

My daughter is 10. 5 letters in this order in any word: B-R-E-E-D, are not allowed to be spoken in our home.

In your daughter's black metal education, you might want to include this site: http://www.i-am-bored.com...ed_link.cfm?link_id=18767 (NSFW)

A cool educational site for everybody: http://education.usgs.gov/ (and the main site: http://www.usgs.gov/) Certainly some of the articles would be a bit advanced for an 8-year-old, heck, some of them are a bit advanced for a 40-year-old, but they do have articles and activities that are designed for kids about that age. It is rather US-centric, though. My favorite part is looking up where the last big earthquake hit: http://earthquake.usgs.gov/
