Pet Peeves
« on: May 30, 2007, 11:52:00 AM »

When the cashier hands you your change bills and/or receipt first and then drops the coins on top

People who change lanes in front of me and then drive slower than I am

People who think grown-up restaurants are playgrounds for their children

Bumper stickers

Late people

Gravel trucks on the freeway/ Rock chips

People who whine about their pet peeves

High school graduates who can't conjugate verbs

The words: "proactive," "paradigm," "utilize," and "facilitate"

Former athletes who become sportscasters

Iceberg lettuce

Militant movements

proactive," "paradigm," "utilize," and "facilitate"

The paradigm of message boards is to utilize a proactive approach to facilitate proper placement of pet peeve threads...

BTW, I'm going to be late for lunch. Could you order me an iceberg lettuce salad? I'm bringing the kids with, so be careful.

Have a nice day!!!

I'd like to nominate "leverage" and "synergy" for this list as well.

Team building exercises in which deptartments come up with nuggets of wisdom like this...

Department Vision

In a safe and trusting environment, one in which we are free to be open and honest, so that we can better understand who we wish to become while maintaining respect for who we are now, we will foster a Team which is focused on personal growth, maintaining a positive attitude and where each member is 100% committed to the success of every member of the Team in thought, word and action.

Oh yeah run-on sentences too.  But not fragments they don't bother me as much.

You know that I am the stallion, mang.

I hate terseness.

I also deplore the superfluous use of pretentiously ostentatious lexicons when far more rudimentary verbiage will suffice most admirably.
