Crocs - Good or Bad? [poll]

I admit, I'm pretty out of touch with what's hip or passé these days. What's the skinny on Crocs? My Tevas are falling apart and I need new summer footwear. This article intrigued me: By Executive Order, Crocs Aren't Chic http://www.washingtonpost...6/21/AR2007062102403.html

Weird, I rarely see them around me, or maybe I'm just hanging out with the wrong people. Berkeley still seems to be Birkenstock country, and the south bay seems to have a lot of hiking-style sandals.

Laura wears Crocs every day at the hospital and swears by them. I think they're ugly as sin, but comfort goes a long way. Speaking of ugly but comfortable, have you considered Keens? I have a couple of pairs and love them.

Crocs are lame as hell and they look cheap not to mention stupid.
Of course I'm a hippy potzer that wears Birkenstocks sometimes.
LOL at shrub wearing socks and sandals. OMG what a *fudge*in moran ass tool.

I have a couple of older styles that aren't available anymore but they're similar to the Ashland and the Pacifica. This summer I'm planning on picking up a pair of the Newports.

The only thing I can think of is that he was about to change into real bike shoes, based on his (presidential seal) bike socks.

The Newports look great. It looks like they carry them at REI, and I have some credit I need to spend there.

I have crocs and chaco's. Crocs are okay for around the house garage. They make my feet hot when I'm outside. In the summer I wear my Chaco's all the time. They last forever and are availabel at REI as well. They are like Teva's and don't have any velcro. I dislike velcro. http://www.rei.com/online/store/Search?storeId=8001&langId=-1&catalogId=40000008001&brandQuery=Chaco&showPictures=1
