Latest Swing. 6/16/07

Here is where I'm at currently.*
*Haven't swung a club in 2 weeks, and didn't warm up much.  These were taken after hitting about 12 balls.  Other than that, it is basically how I've been swing since making the changes, and playing this spring.  (which has been pretty well)

Head on, and down the line 7 iron:  stroh sans The Poncherello Point.  I feel it's lacking, but the people have spoken.








My impressions.

The first thing that jumps out at me, is I really should have black shoes with that outfit.  The brown saddle is not right for that ensemble at all.

After that, I think it's pretty solid over all.  I have a small hitch at the transition, but I can generally get smoother after warming up.

Swing still seems short, but under control.  Weight transfer looks good.  Balance feels good.


[edit]  Ball flight decent.  Straight, primarily, small draw/fade, depending on where the hands are.  I would still like the height to come down a little.

Thoughts?

That said:
1. Your right leg straightens noticeably in your backswing.  Indeed.  I fight that a lot.  First thing to go after a layoff.
2. Club seems on plane at the top, as best I could tell. Agreed.
3. Might be some left wrist cupping (hard to tell), but it doesn't seem to hurt you.  Second biggest problem.  I bought one of those swing gloves, and seems to help, but again, without wearing it for a while........
4. You seem to lose your wrist cock pretty quickly after transition.  I really struggle with the concept of "lag".  I seem to fight with that, and the feeling of a good release.  I have trouble reconciling the two, or more correctly marrying them.
5. Spend the $7 on a tripod for the camcorder, dude.  Or at least have your buddy take his meds.  LOL!  It's actually my digital camera, that can take short video clips.  I have my eye on the Sony with the hard drive, but it will be a bit.  I'm just an MR Tech.  I promise though, when I lay out the 6 bills, I'll toss in the 7 bones for the tripod.

I'm not a big fan of black shoes in the Spring/Summer with a white top.  You'd be better off finding a belt with the same color as the saddle in your shoe.  Or even Khaki shorts or Olive Shorts.

I am not gay NTTAWWT but I do play the role on internet forums.

It's Photobucket's deal.  After I upload, it asks if I want to edit.............Which I do.  You wouldn't believe how bad it looks, if I don't.  That's just how it comes up.. You know I sukk at teh internets.

You seem to have a slight head dip on the downswing. I don't know why that's bad, but TV analysts say so. If it's bad for Tiger, it's probably bad for you too.

To be fair, I think the goal should be to take the clubhead through the desired path with the desired speed and face angle.  Whether one is a hitter or swinger is a personal matter.

The hitter has a hitting motion in his physical swing.  He isn't trying to hit the ball, though, any more than is the swinger.  IMO.
