stats for so far this year I guess
Golf 1x week range -- approx $40 (with driving, takes about 3-4 hours) 1-2x month course -- aprox $40-$60 (with driving, takes about 6-7 hours)
Tennis 2-3x week matches -- free (aside from recently upgrading my racquet) and maybe $3 a week for new can of balls (about 3 hours each session)
Pool/(9 ball) 1-2x per week -- 1st is free, 2nd is usually about $20 (about 2-3 hours each session)
Poker ($5 buy in n.l. tex holdem friendlies...) 2-4x per month -- usually ends up making $... (about 5-6 hours each session)

Golf every weekend I can, many times twice (practice before and after rounds). Club monthly rate is currently $370/month.
Soccer once a week - $60 for an 8-week session.
Poker tourney once a month - hold-em, $30 buy-in. Probably up or even over the past few years with one win and another second. Home/fun game every few weeks - can win/lose about $20 max.

Dude if I had time for hobbies those would be my exact ones. I play golf now at least 2-3 times a month but try for more. I played in a tennis league last winter but with the baby I can't afford to be gone that routinely. Haven't had time to play pool in a long time but I play 9 ball too and have been in some tournaments a few years ago. I love to play holdem but don't have the time or disposable income. In order to spend as much time as possible with my 8 1/2 month old at home I've had to choose one hobby and that is golf.

Regional. The equivalent of what you call "Leather Night".

What are these things called "hobbies"? Regional. The equivalent of what you call "Leather Night". Which raises a dilemma: I'm headed into town tonight for European Bike Night at a local pub. But I'm not riding my bike into town. I planned instead to drive the ol' Subaru. Is it weird that I'll be changing into full leathers for the outing?

Golf is it. I had to tell the poker dudes no mas. Two times a week now with my "class" at school, free large bucket.
I'm still working on 30 dollars worth of range tokens I received for Christmas, use those at my local course, once a week.
Trying to play once a week on average prolly 40 bux there, at least 40 bux.

It is nothing but golf, golf, golf at our house. There was a time where Russell would piss me off over the crap tv shows he would insist on watching, and I would grab a glass of red wine (maybe a few ) log-on and go straight to "EBay"!!!! My EBay hobby is just about gone, as I have brought too much crap after too much red wine!!!! I will admit to going to the computer the next day, with my head hung in shame, hoping & wishing that somebody will have outbid me!!! ........

p.s., stroh, we know your #1 hobby is engaging the always 5pm SST ... just list the others Whew! Thanks for taking the edge off of that sword. I was trying to figure out a way to put lipstick on that pig. Whit that out of the way, mine is pretty bland. For me it's golf only. Not much time for anything else, or no interest in other things. My golf buddies all play poker regularly, but I have neither that kind of money, or inclination. Golf Range: Averages about 3 times a month, usually more when I'm bored. 6 bones a shot, takes me about an hour. Gaff: Been playing once a week, until lately. 45 bucks with cart. Buy the time I finish up with the post round libations, it's a good 6-7 hours. But you can really discount the rest of the day/evening, because I'm a worthless pile of *feces* when I get home. Karen just digs it. Viva golf!

Golf is pretty much what I do with my free time. (You'd think I'd be better at it.) I typically play 5-6/ month during summer. I almost never go to the range, I just hate it. (Probably why I'm not better at it.) Since club making is technically part of the whole golf hobby thing, I count it here too, but since my recent push to change my hoing ways, I don't do it nearly as much as it's pretty much limited to small projects for friends and family anymore.
Since I wasn't able to keep my grubby mitts off my own product, and I was gaining weight because of it, I've generally abandoned my other hobby of homebrewing.
Since free interweb pr0n just ain't what it used to be, other than golf, if I've got free time with nothing else to do I read.
