The Suburban will not start. It cranks over once then battery light comes on. All the lights and radio and everything work so I don't think the battery is dead. Could it be the starter or a relay?

First Guess:

Dead battery, it's got enough amps to run the lights and what not, but not enough to crank the starter.

Jump it off and check for lights then.

BE SURE TO GET GOOD CONTACT ON THE PIA ITTY_BITTY GM SIDEPOST TERMINALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's almost never a relay, one of the most stable and well understood electrical devices known to man, predating the vacuum tube IIRC, and starters freeze completely generally speaking (actually, it's the opposite: They burn up).

Were you on your way to Home Depot to buy goodies for your new abode?

Actually the wife was getting ready to go out. I am at work right now so I can't help her at all. She is borrowing one of my parent's cars right now. I was going to try the jump start thing when I got home. The battery that is installed is about a year old. We replaced it last year for a similar reason. I hate to think the battery is being drained like that.

Ironicly we were going to take it in Tuesday night so they can give it the once over before we go on vacation next weekend. Maybe we should just take the car.

So now it's looking like a fuel pump. When I had asked my wife to hold the key she didn't quite understand that meant hold it in the start position. So.....when holding the key the starter keeps cranking on the engine but it never starts. I know it could be the fuel filter......but.....we recently had the fuel pump changed. She is hearing the same humming that was happening before we had the pump replaced. At least it is still under warranty.

So the first question out of the wife's mouth is "so can we get a new one now?"
