Alright lads, it's golf season.  Let's have some more golf talk around here.

Pulled this one out of my ass but it's a start.

I usually play a slight draw from driver down to about 8i.  Straight shots from there except my putter which tends to hook.  If my draw isn't there I'm usually straight.  Very seldom do I fade the ball although I can fade my driver at at will.  Don't try often beyond that.  Even with 3w off the tee I have inconsistent results with deliberate fades.

So I'll vote draw.  It's my go-to shot more often than not.

I've been working on a slight draw with the driver but my little fade is always reliable. As I have gotten older I need the draw for a little added distance.

I've been hitting my irons really straight this year. I'd like to think this is long term.  Smiley

When I'm hitting the ball well, my regular shot pattern is straight.  Of course, there's no guarantee I won't chunk it, or blade it.

Straight is what I usually hope for. Lately I've developed a power draw/hook particularly in my longer irons that I'm working to correct.

I tend to draw everything. The further in the round I can develop a nasty hook. I can't fade a ball to save my life except every once in a while I will get a push fade off the tee. I comes out of nowhere and usually happens on a dog leg left. My balls are repelled by holes.

I would prefer they went straight.  Lately I've been hitting a draw with the hook/snap hook/block miss.  The draw decreases as the loft increases on my clubs.

The end of last season I was hitting a fade all the time.  And I really liked the ballflight and consistency of it.  But my miss was usually a dead pull.

I pretty much get to the first tee and aim for a straight shot maybe a slight draw.  And after a few holes I start to get the idea what shape is happening that day.  The draw however is been pretty good of late especially when I can abbriviate my follow through and produce a fade.

Straight is what I play for, doesn't mean it happens too often though. Wink

Is 'Not Shanked' a shot shape?

I hit a fade.

Respectfully, isn't wanting your default shot shape the same as "taking what the good Lord gave you"?

I play a fairly straight ball, perhaps with a gentle fade.  Unless I swing poorly, in which case it's hooked or chunked.  I'll take that straight/gentle fade -- no desire for a shape other than the natural one.
