i was the ONLY witness to it (live) in our local pub. all the customers had left, and the bartender had gone to the restroom.

Oh *feces*! During the press conference, an interviewer asked:
There's a lot of people here tonight who helped you get here. But one person who's not able to be here is Greg Anderson. If he happens to be watching TV right now, is there a message that you'd like to send out to him?

I stayed up to watch it.
After he hit it, I said to my self. Hmmmm. Then I shut the tv off, and went to bed.

That place sounds remarkably depressing actually, it's quite nice.

In an attempt to get my trolling thread back on track: has anyone ever produced any compelling evidence to prove explicitly or implicitly that steroids positively affect an individual's ability to hit a fastball, let alone hit a fastball further?

What about hit a fastball when the pitcher has 4 pitches with different movements at different speeds? I haven't seen any. But it is a drug and we all know when the govt classifies something as a drug it is bad. Or good depending on the desired result I suppose. Would disco have even happened if it weren't for cocaine? Even CCR sounds good while on LSD. Try listening to trance music without ecstacy and tell me it's good too, umpossible. I guess making an already good hitter stronger makes his bat faster and thus gives him an advantage. Maybe mendoza would have hit .250 and had 10 HR's on steroids I don't know.

I'm pretty firm in the camp that says: Seriously. You still have to have the talent to hit the *goshdarn* ball. He did it 756 times. 'roids, hgh, and pixie dust, ain't gettin' Erkle to fly like Michael. Period! Having said that, I think Walfredo is on with his statement. I guess making an already good hitter stronger makes his bat faster and thus gives him an advantage.
Along with apparently vastly increased healing times on injuries allows a guy to be at bat more often, and thus allowing more chances to exceed.

Does strength affect bat speed more than technique? At some point do strength and bulk cancel each other out in terms of swing mechanics? Did more muscle mass make David Duval a better golfer?
