Cream and Sugar, hon?
« on: August 27, 2007, 03:08:56 PM » |

The spacey household has differing opinions on coffee. I like mine like I like my men: rich, dark, and strong, She likes hers to taste like candy. The problem is, when She buys coffee, she buys *feces*, because she's just going to load it up with vanilla/cream/etc. I buy the gourmet expensive stuff 'cause when I drink it, I wanna taste it.
I'm only talking about a plain cup of coffee, like you'd have with breakfast. No lattes, no cappuccinos, etc. just coffee. What's your preference?

I *like* the good stuff, sweetened to the point of candy, with cream, brewed by a professional.
Of course, my budget isn't always there, so I'll take almost any strong coffee from a fresh pot.

I said 'other' for two reasons.
1) I used to get the stuff that I could grind right in the store. I suppose that could be 'upper end' store brand, but wasn't sure.
2) I pretty much gave up coffee (caffeine) several years ago and do not drink much anymore at all.

Coffee... um, hmm, what is it? Seriously, that's not something we usually have around here 'cause of the caffiene. On the rare (very, very rare) occasion that I drink it, I like it strong and bitter.

teh sukk And I laugh at my coworkers who can't even function until they stagger into the break room and fill their ridiculously oversized mugs that you could bath a small dog in. I recall not long ago the coffee maker broke and there was no coffee for three days. What a bunch of cry babies!! You'd have thought that they were being deprived of oxygen to breathe. Pathetic!! Pathetic I say!!

Well. I voted any old *feces* will do. I refuse to spend 5 bucks at a name brand place for one cup of coffee.
We have also, always bought the mainstream brands.......(Folgers, etc.)
It's not the coffee, but how you make it. It's all in the ratio. (some would argue the process. Frecch Press, maybe, but still..........)
In short, spacey, I'm with you bud. My wife also likes to drink "tea" that she "doctors" up with a bunch of other *feces*.
My mantra: There is no such thing as strong coffee. Just weak people.

Well, if coffee can't be weak or strong, what do you call the watery stuff some people call "coffee"? Look @ definition 20

My sister's In-Laws live in Guatemala. Everytime they come back to the states, they bring tons of coffee. Quite good.
