Oddly enough, I have never heard this. I haven't even heard of it until now.

Oddly enough, I have never heard this. I haven't even heard of it until now. I'd never seen or heard it either, but that was awesome. I think it was done as part of a tribute album. They're both 70's era New York bands that made a conscious decision to follow a very, very specific formula in terms of music and stagecraft early in their careers, and pretty much stuck to it for 30 years or so. I just watched it again, it's even more beautiful than I imagined: They actually 'False Start' with Blitzkrieg Bop...

Best song under 3 minutes? There's lots of 'em, you just might not have heard of my choices. That too.

Best song under 3 minutes? There's lots of 'em, you just might not have heard of my choices. Okay, I've been thinking, and I pretty certain I've come up with a song that you've heard of. Amazing Grace. Played on bagpipes. Most renditions under 3 minutes. Would qualify as one of my top picks.

I had a friend die in a car accident a few years back. He wasn't wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from his truck. The truck rolled over on him. Everyone else survived without a scratch. A few years later his brother (also a very good friend) committed suicide. He had some substance abuse problems but the kicker was that he missed his brother terribly. At the second funeral a girl sang Amazing Grace in one of the most powerful renditions I've ever heard. There wasn't a dry eye in the place. I know it's standard fare at funerals but that song still makes me think of those two and I'm sure it always will.

I'll always think of a very dear lady who was like a grandmother to me when I hear He the Pearly Gates Will Open and When the Roll is Called Up Yonder, just as Just a Closer Walk With Thee and More Love to Thee will always remind me of my grandfather.
