To get a YouTube video "saved", or downloaded onto your C drive, to mess with it?  Edit, shorten, add, etc.
Is it possible?
I can't figure it out.  (but that ain't gonna make it above the fold on any major daily.)  Tongue

YouTube is streamed Flash.  There's obviously a way to intercept that streaming and save to disk but I haven't the foggiest.

Is stealing stolen content a bit like putting it back?   Shocked Wink

Speaking of which, I'm looking at a steal on Ebay for a used ipod.  I don't know what he means by charred, and pubbies, but I'm gonna snipe it.

Firefox has a plug-in to download streaming media. I can't remember what it's called. Hope this helps.

1. First delete all the files in your browser cache (you can you keep all your cookies though).
2. Then load the YouTube video in question. You'll see when it's fully loaded by the color of the slider bar. It's fully saved to your cache when it's completely red.
3.  Open up Windows Explorer and navigate to the cache folder. If you don't know where it is, you can figure this out by typing "about:cache" (without quotes) in the address bar.
4. Sort Explorer by file size. The largest file (should be named get_video???) is the video in an FLV format.
5. Copy the file to your desktop or other location and rename it with an FLV file extension.
6. To play FLV files, download VLC media player (http://www.videolan.org/vlc/) or Wimpy player (http://www.wimpyplayer.com/).

Ok, I'll try it, but if I'm not online for a few days, you'll know this is where the *fudge* up started.  Cheesy

I don't think even you can *fudge* this up enough to mess up your browser. Cheesy

I know for a fact, it wasn't YouTube, but this advice sounds hauntingly familiar.
