Sad news

A friend of ours died yesterday, early this morning. More a friend of my wife but still sad.

Here's what little story there is.

I'm sorry. I removed my second post. It was unnecessary and graphic. I don't know why I posted it, was still in shock.

My wife spent most of the night at her best friends house. Everyone is in shock, especially her husband. The two were pretty close. Everyone went to high school together. This guy's wife is a total wreck, just going through the motions at this point.

I was the outsider of the group, not having grown up with them, but I really feel sorrow for his wife and son. At 32 you shouldn't be a widow. I'm still a bit in shock having to get ready for work.

I've read this post 4 times and I sound like I'm babbling so I'm just going to stop.

Hang in there Spanky.  Tough deal to be sure.  I've been through it twice in the last five years.  It's not easy going to funerals for the parent of elementary aged children.  Way different than for someone who has lived a full and hopefully rich life.

His son is 13. I don't know what this is going to do to him. I know he looked up to his dad. I haven't really heard how he is doing.

You're not babbling, my friend.  The death of a loved one - friend or relative - is a hard thing to go through.  You need others to support you, and talking about it helps.

Don't feel bad about the second post either.  An accident like that only adds to the shock, and friend's don't mind listening to the details - it helps us understand how you're feeling.

I'm praying for you guys. Smiley

As much as possible, be there for the kid.

My son's best friend's mother died of cancer when the boys were in middle school.  The week before she died, she called me and apologizied for Nathan spending so much time at our house.  What could I say?

Thanks all. Yesterday was tough. Today should be a better day.

And E-A-G-L-E, you are one of only a handful of women that made me cry. Thank you.
