Don't ask.

I'll be bugging you Windows guys I'm sure as I go through this.

First impressions.  Brand new out of the box and setup is at least 20 minutes long.  That's lame.  Finally get through that and my desktop appears.  However, there's a notification that tells me I have 'serious security problems'.  LOL.  The ethernet port is virgin and the wireless adaptor has never been enabled.

But I do have a nice little photo of a whale's tale so that's nice.  Oh... it just switched to a gazelle.  Yay!!

Yeah, I probably should do something like that.  However, all this is going to be used for is IE CSS testing on sites I own.  No email.  No other browsing.  NAT'd and unreachable.

If it gets corrupted I'll just reinstall the OS.  Devil Disgusted Disgusted Disgusted

Maybe MS will adhere to CSS 2.0 by then and I won't need the machine at all.

Sorry, alcohol related post.   Roll Eyes

Have fun! Cheesy

For me, the first thing I do is turn off double click.  Then I can go on to set up the rest of my preferences and etc.

Well, if "preferences" came into it this thing would still be at Costco instead of here ruining my life.   Wink

Tweak?  I turned it on, connected to my wireless network and started (repeatedly via F5) viewing a single page that's guaranteed safe.

Not so much tweak.  More like 2weak.

In the interest of fair play...

Wireless setup was a breeze.  Almost Mac-like in its simplicity.  I've setup network connections on Windows boxes before and have usually ended up scratching my head - especially when those tabs in the control panels keep switching positions.  I don't know whose bright idea that was but they clearly failed Ergonomics 101.  So far, the Vista approach to things like that seems much improved.
