A Modest Proposal

I don't really fancy eating small Irish children although if you put a nice curry chip on the side I'll try just about anything.  Some other time though.  I have something else on my mind today.

I think every last one of us here came from another, much larger forum.  Some left completely for various reasons.  Some are still hanging in both places.  It's all good.  What's not so good in my opinion is when we stalk or mock that other forum and/or its members.  I believe we've lost a couple of great GolfHos members in part because they find that sort of thing distasteful.   A third is perhaps on the verge of walking away from GolfHos and I don't want to see that happen.  I consider him a good friend and a bit of a larf.  For what it's worth, I don't know this for sure but I'm pretty confident it's the case. 

So here's the thing.  What if we agreed to leave our stalking and mocking at home where it belongs.  There's clearly enough material in making fun of *8==>* Cheney, midget long-ballers and Englishmen.  We don't need to make funny at the expense of FGI in general and Phileo in particular.  And if we do, let's go over there and do it face-to-face and leave this place standing on the moral high ground. 

By the way, this isn't about finger-pointing.  I'm far too guilty of not practicing what I preach to judge anyone else.  I just think it'd be great if we put that sort of behavior behind us.

Though I showed up uninvited, and late to the show, I agree with this proposal.  There are a few members here that still have some tight ties to the other site, and I can see how they might be turned off by some of the bashing. 

Besides, if more folks decide to leave, the post counts go down, therefore the chances of stumbling on to my posts dramatically increase...and I don't think anyone wants that.

I'm very much in favor of that!  That's been my personal opinion and I've tried to stay out of those threads (at least until they were threadjacked to a different topic); I think it would be great if we all could come to an agreement on this.

I've never taken kindly to forum bashing anyway.  For example, a certain member here that has forsaken the other place completely - and he has kept his reasons and feelings to himself - thats class.

Besides, it's much more fun to mock GH members.
