Injected with cajun spices and fried But that doesn't really fit the topic does it?

Rubbed with butter under the skin, and put in one of those plastic bags.

An oven. Ditto the leather-clad chick-car-driving polymer. As not to confuse the bird? From range to range.

I usually look up a bunch of recipes/techniques online every year and take elements from each that look interesting. Last year I tried a "rotate every 15 minutes" dealie that I read about on cookingforengineers.com , and the damn bird split in half while trying to rotate it without burning myself. Cooked really quickly after it was split open though. The worst technique I tried that I read online was slathering the whole thing in butter and mayo in the beginning.

Paper grocery bag soaked on inside with Crisco or veg. oil. Stuff the bird with potatoes, carrots, onions, turnips, apples, whatever as long as they're moist (toss 'em at the end). Bird in bag. Staple bag shut. In the oven until the popup timer goes. Rip the top open and test internal temp. Usually have to go another 30 minutes.
Perfect every time. MIL gets all the credit.

Ever since My wife accisentally roasted it upside down, we've been doing it on purpose. It comes out so tender and juicy. Of course, we were wondering when the thermometer was going to pop out.

Really depends on how the day is going. Since moving in with Grandma, we've done most of our cooking and baking the day of Thanksgiving. So, if things aren't going smoothly, we just roast the turkey. If things are going smoothly, we'll stuff it with dressing. Used to do more, just one of the things that needed to be cut out.
