on the phone on hold with Sprint.

I have been getting this spam text message from somewhere and it is driving me nuts. I have been on the phone now for 30 minutes, on hold for 20.

That's too bad. Sad

I had a lovely weekend and concluded it by lunching with friends.

I've found over the last year of so, when dealing with customer services in companies like that; using the phrase AOL retention manual, is like a silver bullet.

Damn, that sucks.  I'm trying to think of the last time I was on hold forever with a company, and luckily it's been a while.  (except the guy in the cube next to me puts his "long customer service calls" on speakerphone, so I'm an unwilling participant in those  Angry)

[t/j]  dys., you said once that you got so fed up with his(somebody's) *feces* that you left and worked the rest of the afternoon at Starbuck's.  Can you do that a lot?  Do they notice/mind? [/t/j]

I don't think they notice or mind.  I go days without talking to anyone here, so it doesn't seem to matter.  They don't like telecommuting here, though, for some reason.

Wish I could do that. But alas it's hard to change a motor or valve from 20 miles away. And some of those screws are so damn small.

I believe your expertise with small screws has been well documented.   Cheesy
