Holy crap, it's been so long since I've seen that movie. How is it on HD? I can only imagine what it would be like if they remade it now.

its stunning in HD (video) and even more so regarding the HD audio!!!!! i was only like 4 (ballpark) when it released, so I never saw it in theatres- only the really (according to those who got to experience it theatrically) horrible vhs and dvds. i can't imagine a film of its age being any better in VQ/AQ. really. they went all out in cleaning it and remastering it

I've yet to offer my virgin self to BladeRunner, much as gleek throughout his adult life resisted the temptation that is the cinematic immortality of Mannequin.
We live in shame.

I've never read the short story nor seen the Director's Cut. I took a course in college called "Utopias and Dystopias" where we spent a week on this movie. I spent so much time in the library replaying key scenes trying to figure out some of the dialogue for a paper that I don't have any desire to see it again, which is too bad.

that's too bad. it's really one of those few transcendental films... and finally available in perfect form!

Deckard human or replicant Human, too many emotions. i was only like 4 (ballpark) when it released, so I never saw it in theaters Seriously one of a handful of movies that literally blew me away in a theater setting, then again I cried during Bad News Bears so take it for what it's worth. it's really one of those few transcendental films. Absolutely, and I was in love with the Sean Young for years after that.

Kinda like me and "Cool Hand Luke" during freshman orientation.

Blade Runner is on my list of the best movies of all-time.
I've never read Philip K *8==>*'s "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?", on which the movie is based, but apparently Deckard is shown to be human in the book.
The first time I saw the movie, it never occurred to me that Deckard might be a replicant, to me he was a human. When I saw the director's cut version, I could see the rationale behind the claims that he was a replicant.
In any event, director Ridley Scott has stated that Deckard is a replicant in the movie. Despite that, the debate continues.

Deckard
human or replicant yeh, I had read that previously. along with having the debate several times on forums, and watching the film (in many cuts) many times, and reading various essays about it... just wanted peoples opinions, i think it says more about how you view the film.
