"Defensed..."

"Defended against"

Is that so hard?

'Bout to switch to Shooter or some other movie.  No Utah or Boise State story happening here.  Sad

Yes, it might be Slevin.  Kids are both having sleepovers.  Not restricted to PG-13 tonight.

I'm usually restricted to rated G, although the other night, I was able to watch Transformers with the 3.5 year old present since it's a movie based on children's toy characters.

Have to defend the edge pressure? That *goshdarn* UGA right end is offside on almost every single play! I can't believe they haven't called that yet.

Aske - sorry I could not join in the fray earlier.  I was watching my Dawgs on the t.v. with my wife.  When I moved down here 5 years ago, neighbors forced me to choose allegiance with a team; we chose GA over GA Tech, as I think Richt is a very good and respectable coach, while Gailey was a good coordinator at one time.  I was just glad to get to a part of the country that cares about college football.

I'm not jumping on the GA bandwagon for #1, but they've looked good the last couple of months, including tonight.  Both lines started the year looking rough and young, but they have matured well within a tough conference.  I still think that Stafford is a long way from being a great QB.  He has the arm strength and quick release, and is starting to show signs that he can run an offense, but he still makes a lot of throws he should not.  The defensive unit has improved a lot; they seem to know their assignments a lot better than they did the earlier part of the season.  Both sides of the ball are pretty young.  The next couple of years could be fun.

Georgia has dominated a lot of teams the second half of the season, as have USC and OU, all three showing some good balance.  A playoff this year could have been fun.

The BCS really screwed up with Mizzou as well.

Wasn't it the reporters and coaches that ended up having the greatest impact?  I may be wrong here, but for some reason thought that the final polls made it mathematically impossible for the computer model to put UGA in the title game.  I understand the argument against Georgia, and don't have a problem with it.  I have a problem with the way the top 10 shook out after all the upsets, though:

--Ohio State continued to move up the polls after their regular season was over (November 17, I believe).  Georgia moved up as well, until the final week, when the coaches and reporters apparently were determined to correct "errors" in previous weeks' voting, continuing to move OSU up, and then leapfrogging LSU and OU over UGA.  Why not leap over OSU as well, as they were not playing either?  Oh yeah, they won the Big Ten.  BFD.
--LSU jumps from 7th (or thereabouts) to 2nd?
--OU jumps from 9th to 3rd?
--KSU still gets a BCS game and Mizzou doesn't?

We'll see how competitive the rest of the BS - sorry, BCS - games are.  The sad thing to me is that they had the opportunity to put some great games together.  Instead, OU goes up against WVU, USC against the Illini (damned Rose Bowl allegiance to the Pac-10 and Big Ten), and UGA against Hawaii.  I think OU will handle WVU in similar fashion to what USC and UGA did to their opponents.  IMO, these were the three teams playing the best ball and none were put in competitive games.  Maybe good for the schools, buy we missed out on some good games.

The lobbyists for the SEC and Big Ten seem to have performed well, while the Big-12 and Pac-10 were not quite as influential.
