It's just as well, that is soon to be an outdated picture of me. My last day on the job is Wednesday, and after that I'll be working from home in full-on recluse/"never see daylight" mode.

Awesome. I work out of a home office above the garage. There's a tiny little window and some days I don't look out it once. Night will fall and I have no idea what the weather was like. A friend of mine calls up and asks my wife if "Gollum can leave his cave". * all different in the summer of course when I can always find time for nine holes.

I took 6 months off in 2000 for "peternity" leave when I got my beagle pup. The only interaction with the outside I had back then was going to the dog park and the occasional midnight supermarket run. This time I'm not going to be as hardcore, though. I have some friends working on their own stuff out of their homes that I'll meet for coffee. Also, I'm going to force myself to attend various geek events around here to get out of the house. (like stopping by Macworld Thursday) Oh yeah, I also wasn't married back then either.
