What did you think of the show tonight? It raised lots of questions for me, and only answered one thing that I recall (who can fly). Great ending.
I'm still hooked.

Really good show. I know, I spent the whole episode yelling; "Can that other dude fly?!!
Hiro kicks ass!

I loved the ending segment with Hiro, but I can't figure out where they're going with his character.
I just hope they don't use his timetravelling as an easy plot device if the story arc backs them into a corner. (i.e. "everything you thought just happened in sweeps week is now undone because time was turned back")

Seems to me that I recall from the first episode that the psychic painter dude had painted a picture of a mushroom cloud over NYC. I'm guessing Hiro's apparent ability to time travel will eventually play a part in averting a nuclear holocost.

Yeah, I remember that painting, and I think I've seen in commercials that the initial storyline is everyone coming together to prevent the future nuclear explosion (foreseen by the oracle/painter and now witnessed by Hiro).
I'm sure Hiro's time-traveling will come into play many times in episodes to come, he's an entertaining character. I guess I'm just against time-traveling as a super-hero ability (if he's able to control it), since it's so powerful that it could pretty much rollback anything that goes wrong. For example, I never liked the ending of the original Superman movie.
So what's going on with the Vegas stripper with the kid? Is she a hero or villain, or possibly both?
Do you think the bespectacled father in Texas is Skyler(Syler?) or is that someone that we haven't seen yet. I think the comic from the newspaper stand was called something like "Nine Stories", which suggests more characters to be introduced.

My guess would be that they will deal with Hiro's space/time continuum control as both a strength and a weakness, i.e. he has the ability to do it, but not always the ability to control it. Most superheroes have some sort of fundamental weakness, his inability to control his powers will probably be his kryptonite. They could easily have him bouncing around all over the space time continuum just in an effort to put himself in a place where he might be able to do anything about the pending disaster. Could make for some cool story lines.
I don't quite know what to make of the stripper. She might end up being a sort of "Two Face" type character, or she might just not know what her abilities are and how to harness them.
I think the Cheerleader's father is the serial killer (Skyler, Syler, whatever). If you notice, both killings involved the victim's skull being sawed open and their brains taken. One (future) victim is a character we already know to harness special abilities (the psychic painter). My guess is, he's killing these people and harvesting their brains to figure out what it is that gives them their powers.
Like the cop in episode 2, I think we'll continue to see new people with new powers introduced. I can't imagine it will be a lot more or they'll run into the same problem as the X-Men movies- too many characters, not enough time to grant them a proper character arc.

Then again, like Twin Peaks, it might just prove too weird for mass consumption and be cancelled long before we're ever able to find out exactly what the hell is going on. On another TV viewing note, Studio 60 is also gaining intellectual momentum. I'm sure it won't last the whole season either.

On another TV viewing note, Studio 60 is also gaining intellectual momentum. I'm sure it won't last the whole season either. I bet Studio 60 will last, they put a lot of hype and money into that show, and most people I know have liked it. (although those same people also liked Arrested Development) My problem has been that I don't like the scheduling of Heroes and Studio 60 back to back. Not for anything like lead-in audience or ratings/demographics issues, but for selfish, personal reasons. By the end of each Heroes episode, I've usually been like "wow, did that just happen? I need to process this and re-evaluate everything that I thought I knew up to this point". But then it goes right into Studio 60 with the classic Sorkin opening with dialogue blazing (ala Sportsnight or West Wing), where I actually need to pay attention to what's going on right away. I'd prefer something fluffy and mind-numbing to follow Heroes if only to remember the episode better. (or I could just get a dvr)

Well? By my estimate, minus commercials you should be pretty close to finished by now...
