This Wee invention may give relief to travellers. Karen Wee, of New York, has been granted a US patent (No. 7,313,833) for an emergency toilet system, with privacy shades and disposable waste reservoir that can be built into the seat of a motor vehicle, aircraft or submarine.

I've been successful in several emergency toileting events, with the aid of any fancy invention.

Just from a patent process: damn! A first office action only two months post-filing, and the patent issued only two months after the issue fee was paid! My pendency is more like 18 months to first action, and it's typically been ~3 months from issue fee payment to issuance.
Of course, my patent applications don't always deal with *feces*ters, either.

I could have used one of those a time or two. Usually we just used a funnel for #1. #2's we would wake people up.
