I think most people understand that Hillary is not really electable - too devisive, perhaps unfairly so - but thats life. Will she be any more divisive that the jackass currently in office? I doubt it. This issue of divisiveness and electability is a joke. Any divisiveness that we see is a reflection of the ideological divide between the people in this country that's growing wider every day. It's not going to matter who's in office. Any Dem will be hated by the right, any Repug will be hated by the left, and any centrist will be hated by the extreme left and right. (For the record, I selected Obama in this poll.)

That would be correct if Hillary was disliked for the same reasons a typical Dem would be disliked. My thoughts here are that she is disliked for more than just being a Dem - something that may cross political boundaries. Afterall, her politics are hardly extreme, but she is villified moreso than Dems who are extreme.

Consider this unfortunate reality...
[pc hat off]
I thought that there was no way a Republican could win this fall. But how much of a chance was the Republican party just granted by narrowing down the competition to:
Obama, who is mostly-a-black man
Clinton, who is mostly-a-woman
We all know that there are too many people ('too many' meaning more than one - and 'people' meaning bigots) who will find it hard to vote for either one. And the right will not even have to talk about it at all (or at least better not) - the press will make sure people are thinking about it everyday.

I honestly don't know. I think the hatred of her is unjustified, but that doesn't make it go away. EDIT: OK, I'll take a crack at it after reading some comments on another, non-golf, forum. The right hates her because she a Dem, got into office on her husband's (another hated Dem) coatails, and wrote a book called 'It Takes A Village' - offending their 'family values' sect. Certain portions of the left hate her because they don't think she's a Dem and she got into office on her husbands coatails.

In the past, if it weren't for coattails, there's no way a 1.5-term governor of Texas with poor speaking abilities, no foreign policy experience, a history of business failures, past substance abuse problems, and shady military history gets elected President.

Thanks for voting, libs.
Guess I qualify. Voted for Obama in this poll, and would vote for Obama. If it came down to voting for Prez, I am just un pc enough to say I'm not ready to vote for a woman for President most especially THIS woman, unless she took Obama as her running mate, maybe just maybe I might swing.
