Lame article.

Everyone thought time had expired.  The field was covered with players, coaches, media, security, fans, ...  Belichick DID meet Coughlin at midfield (he had to push his way around a media guy to get to Coughlin), shook hands, hugged, exchanged words, then trotted to the locker room.  What would people have him do?  Stay there, watch the knee, then go back out and pretend he hadn't just congratulated Coughlin 45 seconds ago?  Trot straight to the locker room and have a zillion people assume he blew off the NYG coach?

Anyone who thinks Belichick doesn't respect Coughlin or the Giants is an idiot.

I don't really care about what Belichick did or didn't do. I just found it hilarious that that story made the headline rather than the outcome of the game.

The referee clearly told him that there was time left right after his exchange with Coughlin.  He knew there was a play to be ran.  He ran off the field anyway.

But, its not a big deal to me.  A bit disrespectful of the game, but it was 'over' so I'm not too bothered by it.

I believe Belichick respects Coughlin and the Giants.

I believe Belichick is a great football coach.

I believe Belichick is an *bunghole* who knew exactly what the situation was last night and said "eff you I'm outta here".

Clive dishes a sweeping generalization?   Shocked

Belichick may respect everyone on the planet for all I know but he's a contrary prick just the same.

I ask again: when time REALLY expires, what do you want Belichick to do?  Meet the Giants' coach at midfield again?  Just bolt for the locker room?

I made no mention of any disrespect to Coughlin - I said he disrespected the game.  I would not expect him to run out there again, but I did expect him to stand on the sideline as the coach of the team while the game was still going on.  If he wants to bolt for the locker room then - no prob.
