And as I wrote elsewhere, when he bolts for the locker room, everyone condemns him for a classless snubbing of the winning coach, the whiny little sore-losing cheat.
In that particular cluster of circumstances, Bill Belichick is *fudge*ed.

In context: This is professional sports at it's highest level. The only thing that matters is results. People garner very large salaries to produce those results. If the goal is not achieved, you should be "sore". IOW, you should be mad as hell, and stomp off the field, if you're not already in the fetal position, and the other coach isn't gonna give a *fudge*, because he did achieve, and will get a contract extension, and an even larger salary.

What bothered me more was his total lack of acknowledgment in his post-game interviews that there was even another team out there. Usually you get at least some sort of "hats off to them, they played a great game" statement. Nothing from Belichick, nil. [Edit] I guess I didn't watch the coverage long enough to see this. “They played well,” a dour Belichick said. “They made some plays. We made some plays. They just made a few more. We played as hard as we could. We just couldn’t make enough plays.” I stand corrected. Belichick's still a cock, though. |

Belichick: "Not a very good one. We're disappointed."
Myers: "Where did the game get out of hand, in your opinion? You want to talk about the last drive?"
Belichick: "We had our chances on the last drive. They made some plays, and they made big ones at the end."
Myers: "Did you expect this kind of game, in terms of a defensive low-scoring game?"
Belichick: "Well, it was a three-point game the last time we played them. We knew it was going to be a tough, hard-fought game. And it was."
Myers: "Can you talk about what the defensive plan was in that last drive? It looked like Eli Manning was going to get sacked, obviously, and he got away and completed it to Tyree."
Belichick: "Yeah, we had our hands on a few balls and we had some pressure on them. In the end, they made those plays and we didn't. That's the difference in the game."
