First CD you ever purchased?

No set up necessary.
1988- after 18ish months of determination, I finally saved up enough to buy a CD player. IIRC, I paid about $300 for a "boom box" style CD player at Silo (it had detachable speakers though, bitches), and walked next door to Raspberry Records to buy some stuff to stick in it. Bought The Smiths, The Queen is Dead and The Beatles, Rubber Soul.
You?

Not really sure. The first stuff I remember listening to on a cd player would be my dad's cds. Dire Straights and The Beatles but I didn't buy those.
First cds I remember owning, probably Green Day Dookie or Nirvana Nevermind.

45 - Jimmy Osmond - I'll be your long-haired lover from Liverpool 33 - Billy Joel - The Stranger 8-Track - Grease Soundtrack (one and only 8-track; cassettes came out 15 minutes later) CD - The Beatles - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band I'm not sure if it's weird to remember this stuff or weird to forget it.

Didn't even own a CD player at the time. I borrowed a friend's player to make a mix tape.

Haven't ever bought a CD. Me neither. If I want a CD, I ask my wife to pick it up. Now vinyl, that's another story.
