How much H2O do you drink?
« on: November 28, 2006, 02:20:37 PM » |

Just curious.
Personally, I try to drink a base of two liters per day. Then I drink an additional ml of H2O for every ml of anything else I drink (coffee, diet coke, bourbon, etc.) I also drink at least 1 additional liter on my workout days (3-4 x per week). By days end it's not uncommon for me to drink 3.5-4 liters of H2O. And yes, I make a lot of trips to the bathroom/restroom.

Good post.
I made the decision 2 years ago, that I was not drinking near enogh water. (the math might be tough for me) I drink coffee in the morning, I would say a lot. Then I switch to water after lunch. (no pop/soda) I have a 700 ml bottle, and average about 5 by the time I get home.
Then, of course I switch to beer, so I'm not sure how that figures in.
I drink as much water as I can, but i know I could always mix in more.

I'd guess two litres a day. I drink from cups so it's hard to say for sure.
Then... I drink an *awful* lot of iced tea. Does that count? Seriously.

Only if its unsweetened decaf. Unsweetened - yes Decaf - no Half count? I know caffeine is a diuretic but it's a weak one. Does it completely nullify the water intake or somehow make it count for less? Just tryin' to understand.

No I don't think the caffeine completely nullifies the water, and frankly the sweetener (artificial or otherwise) and carbonation in soda is far worse for you. Quite honestly I don't know why I feel like I need to counter every cup of coffee with an equivalent amount of water. Probably over compensation. No worries, though, I have plenty of sodium in my diet.

I'd say your plan is rock solid.

As much as possible. At the right temperature, water is my favourite drink.
