http://www6.comcast.net/n...008/02/11/Starbucks.AT_T/Never been in a Starbucks, and don't own a laptop. I guess I always thought that that was the draw of coffee houses. Go in buy coffee, and sit and surf. Who the *fudge* would pay 6 bucks an hour to do that?

I have a Starbucks in my building. I hate them. Being able to use a coffee machine does not make you a barista you *fudge*tard!

I found that out the hard way the other day...I had planned to get some "crucial" work done involving plagerizing a bunch of stuff off the intertubes, and then getting some emails out while "on the road" during a 2hr period that was sandwiched in between two chautauquae on the schedule.
So I figured I'd pop right into a Starbucks and get it all done there.
OMG!!
I actually went up to the counter and said, "Hold it! Am I missing some top secret password? I thought the Intertube connection was part of the deal with the overpriced cappuccino?"

Lemme get this straight- they have the balls to charge $4 for a simple, and slightly burnt tasting, 12oz cappuccino, then put a tip jar on the counter, and on top of all of that still charge for wi-fi access?

LOL That kinda sums up my thoughts. I guess that's why I assumed the wifi was free.

That's excellent. Or, if you feel more harmed personally and feel like pointing a finger with a broad brush, you can go with the more inflammatory, yet less satirical: *fiddlesticks*offnowadaysseattlecoffeegrungemicrosux

The Starbucks nearest my old house always had free wifi. More than once, I parked outside and computed in the car to get something out via email by midnight.
