I asked sorta that same question a while ago and was kind of shot down, saying my perception of prosperity was due to a Republican controlled Congress, and not due to who was in the White house.(post '91)

OK, we gotta settle something here. 99.9513% of your posts go toward suggesting 'Merkans are morans. I don't think you can use the intellectual musings of morans to establish your case about the moranity of their Chief Moran. Joseph.Heller.surrenders. Hate the proles or hate the first citizen. But for sake of Baby Forseti please love one or the other!!!

I asked sorta that same question a while ago and was kind of shot down, saying my perception of prosperity was due to a Republican controlled Congress, and not due to who was in the White house.(post '91) You simplified my response. It was simply A factor - one of many. If you honestly think that simply electing a Dem in November will make everything great again - you are out of your tree. The markets cannot be controlled by a president. Lots of things influence investing and spending, and presidents can influence those influences. But, we have not changed that much in the last 20 years that any one preseident has distinguished himself as being different, their 'influences' have largely been the same. Clinton benefitted from good economic times - he didn't create them. Then again - Al Gore invented the Internet, so people are apt to believe anything I guess. We need a sense of history that goes back beyond the 90s. I had a more colorful analogy all typed up, but it wasn't quite correct - slightly funny, but ultimately didn't fit right.

I have that tendency. Most likely because I'm rather simple. Makes sense. Thanks.

A US President probably can't do much to single-handedly improve the economy, but he can definitely *fudge* it up pretty bad all by himself.
