I have a 7-year-old grandson living with me. As I opened The Tribune last Friday morning and saw the large Lego layout in "The Mix" section, my grandson was right at my elbow. "Read me what it says, Grandma," was his enthusiastic little voice in my ear. I was horrified to see that the Lego picture was all about how to get an alcoholic drink on St. Patrick's Day ("Don't let the crowds stop you - getting a drink on St. Pat's is easy," Tribune, March 14).
What in the world are you thinking? If you are going to discuss adult themes, don't use children's toys to do it. I was so taken aback that I was speechless - horrified, actually.
In the future, please think about the audience you are appealing to before you print something of that nature. We will have to get rid of that page of the paper before my grandson gets home from school so he won't try and read it himself.
I have always loved The Tribune, but this morning's edition was tasteless and unbelievably insensitive. Impressionable young people read the paper, too.
