I'm sure San Mateo county will survive without Ellison's property tax. Still Ellison's a douche.

Given the town manager's comments ... Woodside will lose about $78,000 from the $130,000 in property taxes it collected on the Mountain Home Road property during the past few years, Town Manager Susan George said. Nevertheless, she doesn't begrudge Ellison.
"He went through a process that was laid out by the law," she said. "It shouldn't make any difference how much money he has if the process was fair."
That said, she added: "We'll miss the money; we always have good things we can do with it." ... why is Ellison ridiculed? Anyone can ask that his property be re-assessed -- I work with folks who've done it.

Same goes for belaboring the point about where the money was tagged to go - an emotional plea to vilify someone for something everyone does, or can do. I guess I should go scold my neighbors when I get home, they successfully challenged their assessment last year and probably deprived the school district of much needed money. I'll be sure and let them know they can eat a fat one. But Ellison is still a douche

Tip for the future I guess. If anyone here runs into a chit load of money - build the ugliest multi-million dollar home evar! Since no one will want to buy it you can get it assessed cheap and save tax dollars.

I've challenged my assessment and won. It's always worth trying. You almost always win.
There's an added joy in depriving Davis School District of my tax dollars.
I, like Ellison, am a douche.

DING DING. also, just out of curiosity, how many of you again make enough $ that you can afford to go through reassessments when you're quibbling over taxes that represent approximately 1/10000th of your net worth
