Rats. Not too surprising, but I would have liked to see all the BCS bashing that would have accompanied an OSU-Mich matchup.

florida is a great team, but simply not that great.
2 thumbs down.

It just doesn't matter who plays OSU, that has to be one of the best teams I've seen in quite awhile.
For the record: didn't want to see "the" rematch...OSU earned the right NOT to have to play Michigan again.
Until Saturday I thought USC was the second best team in the nation, but again I say the pac 10 is a good/tough division. I said that in FGI at the beginning of the season and got slammed by GIMC.
So I guess Florida is the answer, Michigan should have fallen after they lost to OSU IMHO, it's a flawed system, it always has been and always will be.
It's just time for a playoff, there are so many logical ways to pull one off, and still make tons of money, not interfere with class schedules blah blah blah.
thoughts?

Agree. I didn't want to see a rematch either. Feel bad for MI, but if they won the second meeting, what would you have? I wouldn't be surprised, but then you have a whole year of "well it wasn't decided" the tie wasn't broken.

the wack10 is over-rated again, the big10 was a bit down this year from the top to bottom, but very very very strong at the top3-4, the sec was very strong all throughout (except kraptucky and vanderbilt... although vanderbilt took UF to the limit!HAHAHAHA)... but the sec overall was a bit over-rated .... still basking in the wake of the auburn scandal in 2004.
overall, UM and UF are great schools, and both have arguments for / against.
the biggest problem is why does UF beating (actually, ALMOST LOSING if you watched the game) ARKANSAS suddenly propel them OVER michigan. the same poll voters that moved UF up for winning that game severaly dropped ARK for losing it. this makes NO SENSE WHATSOEVER. IF they are voting that ARKANSAS was over-rated, then UF beating them shouldn't leapfrog MICHIGAN. if they are voting that UF is that great and simply unbeatable, then ARK shouldn't have dropped that far in the polls.
why did UF leapfrog UM? because! USC lost. it's what people WANT TO SEE, not a 'certain' matchup of #1 vs #2 best teams in country (which is what BCS is supposed to do). One of the HARRIS voters actually voted UF above OSU! ! ! HAHAHA
the bcs average of the computer polls (which drop the high/low rating for each school) had UF and UM tied... probably a pretty fair assessment. all these #1 schedule arguments for FL vanish when the computers crank the #'s out that actually have opponent's opponent's opponents..... etc figured in, and depending on which computer you go to, each school had a stronger schedule (i believe it was 4-2 UM, but someone can double check that.)
all these 'you must win your conference' arguments don't pan out either... what if all season long, team A and team B (conference X) schedule teams from Conference Z (supposedly hardest conference) for their OOC games , they win these games 112-0, 134-3, etc... then storm through their own conference and go undefeated till their rival game, which ends 63-59. they finish the season having outscored their opponents 1243-76 and 1310-80 . the one that loses is shut out of a rematch in favor of a team that went 11-1 in conference Z, outscoring their opponents by a margin of 250-150. although this is an extreme hypothetical example, it is sound, and it is the reason why there is no actual rule in the bcs that you must win your conference, clearly, in some years, the 2 best teams in the country may well be the same conference! unfortunately, that makes for bad $ and the voters /bowls don't like it.
of course a playoff would be great, but it won't happen, gotta keep the ACC/Big East swimming in those !$17/M bowl payouts.

if um won game #2 by more than 3, they're clear cut champs. winning on a neutral field is much easier than winning in the horseshoe (where OSU is something like 28-2 in the last 5 years, including the down year when they actually lose like 4 games !)

I really think Florida can give OSU a run for the title. If you haven't seen the impact that Percy Harvin (true freshman) can make in a game, you're in for a treat.
I watched this kid play high school football last year in Va Beach. I've never seen such raw high school talent in my life. And I've seen the following kids play high school football, Both Vicks, Aaron Brooks, Allen Iverson (better then most know) Ronald Curry (believe it or not, the best high school quarterback than any listed so far) and a host of others.
I'm looking forward to this game.
