There are some bad manners among local folk too.

Unfortunately I for one can be guilty of such sins. Sad

On a related note I have found that I am surprised by how people eat. I have worked with the same people for almost 8 years. Most of the time I eat in my cube/shop by myself. Once in a while I will either go out to eat with a group of people or we have food catered. Some people you think would be slobs are actually very neat eaters and vice versa.

I can be proper if I need to but most of the time I'm like "who needs a fork".

Cultural differences? Slurping of soup/liquids comes to mind from my travels in Asia. But at least half the food didn't wind up on shirts, et al.

(back when I worked in an office environment among other people)

Hands/fingers.  But I lean back so all the crumbs end up on my shirt instead of the keyboard.  After eating, carefully remove shirt, and fling crumbs over the wall toward nearest empty cube.

(now that I work from home)

Hands/fingers.  Dog collects crumbs.
