Another near miss

As many of you know spring in Oklahoma is a time for the ritual of getting off from work somedays as a supercell forms over your head. One came up out of nowhere just before 5:00 pm just SW of okc. My son and I got home to sheets of rain and hail. Turned the tv on and found out the circulation was right by us. We went in the pantry as I could see the wind blowing the trees around fiercely. The house was shaking and we must have had close to 100 mph winds but it didn't touch down. It stayed at about tree height over us and kind of skipped its way across town. Rotating back down and up again. It touched down again a mile from my wife's school and later in Edmond (NE okc). As the rotation was heading to Edmond about 6 miles north of me the outflow winds were ripping through my neighborhood. They were as hard if not harder than the actual rotation. We had a tree branch come down on the driveway but didn't lose power thank god. I guess all the work the ice storm did on the trees was indeed for the better getting all the old and smaller limbs that are most vulnerable. So no damages and no injuries for us, just another exciting evening. http://www.koco.com/slide...93434/detail.html?taf=oklpics 4, 9, 10 and 16 are of our storm

[Serious EAGLE-like answer to joke]But that is why I like Oklahoma. I love the springtime on Oklahoma It really is exciting. I like the evenings when the storms come rolling in with the electricity in the air. Perfect for having a few drinks and watching the weather radar. Only thing that makes me mad is when one of my favorite shows gets interupted. [Serious EAGLE-like answer to joke]

Man glad everyone is alright. We had a couple scares a couple weeks ago but nothing like what you got. Just some warnings and once they told us to take cover but nothing ever happened.

Brand new state! Brand new state, gonna treat you great! Gonna give you barley, carrots and pertaters, Pasture fer the cattle, Spinach and termayters! Flowers on the prarie where the June bugs zoom, Plen'y of air and plen'y of room, Plen'y of room to swing a rope! Plen'y of heart and plen'y of hope.
Oklahoma, where the wind comes sweepin' down the plain And the wavin' wheat can sure smell sweet When the wind comes right behind the rain. Oklahoma, Ev'ry night my honey lamb and I Sit alone and talk and watch a hawk Makin' lazy circles in the sky.

I'm starting to think Clive's a *goshdarn* Scouser what with breaking out the Rodgers and Hammerstein every chance he gets.

I'm starting to think Clive's a *goshdarn* Scouser what with breaking out the Rodgers and Hammerstein every chance he gets. A while back, he got caught by his bosses on a little lunchtime rendezvous with another dude. I advised him to act gay. It was actually his advice to someone else, but I figured it was more apropos for his sticky wicket. My guess is he's either still doing it, or was such a good fit that........

walfredo is right though, for those that have lived in the 'alley' while it can be exhilirating/frightening at the same time, you can literally smell it in the air when those type of storms are coming.
