The weight is lifted

Sort of.

So many of you may remember me saying there was a going to be change at my work, and that I was concerned that they were going to bring my old boss back and possible demote me. Well right before I went on vacation last week they transferred the other Working Foreman out of our factory. So the other side of the week was left with no supervisor. When I got back to worn on Sunday my boss e-mailed me saying he would call me that afternoon to tell me his plan. He never called. On Monday he did not call or talk to me. Needless to say I was now concerned that what I thought would happen would.

We have our weekly meeting on Tuesday so I knew I would see him and talk to him. During the meeting he was talking about the 1 Working Foreman and eluded to some other personnel changes but he was not being very specific about things. After the meeting he says he wants to talk to me. He tells me that originally it was going to be my old boss but my old boss managed to piss off management here. So I was offered the job. And I took it.

Now the reason my old boss was offered the job was because he was a friend of my manager. He had mentioned a desire to come back but the truth was he just wanted a special shift. He used this opportunity to try and get something out of where he is. So do I care? Not really because I now know that the engineers were behind me and no necessarily the other guy.

So now I will be working Mon,Tues,Thur, and Fri. 12 hours each day. There will be an option to if needed to work Wed and take another day (prob Mon or Fri) off. I will be over all 4 shifts of technicians and will be responsible for all equipment related needs and whatnot.

I may start drinking more but I'll be home on the weekend.

I thought you were gonna tell us you hadn't been to Donut King for a few weeks....
