Where would you live if you had to live in a different state/province?

I've only lived in four states in my lifetime (PA, NY, MD, CA), but I've wondered where I would live if I couldn't live in California. I think I would be torn between Seattle, WA and Northern Virginia.
Where would you live if you had to live in a different state/province? (for the sake of argument, let's exclude places that are in a different state, but the same metropolitan area such as northern NJ/NYC or portions of Illinois bordering St. Louis, etc.)

I'd go back to San Antonio.
I've only lived in 3 cities, and each had its ups and downs, but SA is just a wonderful place.
If I were realllly rich and could just move around at will... I'd consider Santa Fe .

Are we assuming money is no object and secure employment awaits? If so, I'd probably pick Boston. I also really like NoCal, and most of the Pacific Northwest, even up into Vancouver.

I didn't really have any assumptions in mind and wanted to leave it open-ended, but it's probably a more interesting question if you rule out money and cost of living, which rules out many locales. Part of me would love to live on the Big Island of Hawaii, but the more I think about it, I'm not sure I could see myself there. Vancouver is a good call, that's high on my list.

That's a hard call to make. Too many choices. Um, Tennessee or North Virginia might be nice. Several nice places in Canada. Or maybe near an ocean. Or.... uh, can I be undecided?

Victoria/Vancouver Island (lived there once) down through No. California on the coast exluding any other cities proper. It'd be within walking distance of the Pacific. To really dial it in I'd like to be within a couple of hours drive of Bandon, OR. I'd go back to England (Devon/Cornwall) or Ireland (Galway/Clare) given different circumstances. I wouldn't want to be that far away from my kids though so it probably will never happen. Plus I don't think my wife would be happy there. Other than that I don't think I'd budge from Utah.

One of my best friends got married at Holland Lake Lodge, which is (IIRC) somewhere in the Kalispell vicinity. Gorgeous, but mosquitoes the size of Hueys.

My wife has family up there who live right on Flathead Lake. We go up to fish the Kokanee runs every August. Having gone to college in Missoula, I got to know the lakes and streams around there pretty well. It's beautiful, misquitoes or not.
