I'm holding out to get it and watch in on dvd when I get the quadrilogy for 3.99 if I King size my bacon cheddar double Whopper order.
I with you Stroh. No wonder we get along so well, we think alike. so you both like to stick "meat" in your mouths.... If by meat you mean tuna, and tube steak, then yes.

Hey, and I read that WSJ review this afternoon. Wow. It did NOT make me want to go spend $8.75 on that movie.

$8.75.... that's actually cheap. I think we're up around $15.00 here

I'm looking forward to it. Trying to go in with very low expectations. Here's an amusing, related article: Indiana Jones and the legend of the obsessed fanhttp://seattlepi.nwsource...ies/364092_indyfan22.htmlHe got married eight years ago in a white "Temple of Doom" dinner jacket and honeymooned on Kauai -- his bride's choice -- after she tempted him with a visit to Gorilla Mountain, where the opening scenes of "Raiders of the Lost Ark" were filmed. She promised to take his picture.
"That's how I was able to get him to go to Hawaii," said his wife, Janell Toppen, who works in human resources at Microsoft.
A year later, Ryan was camping in the Serengeti in full Indy gear, fulfilling a lifelong dream, when Toppen -- who took a pass on the rugged trip -- learned she was pregnant. Her husband was in an area so remote the guides had never even heard of Indiana Jones -- imagine that! -- so her news had to await his return.
Ryan was thrilled, of course, but they hit a good-natured snag when nature presented them with a baby boy nine months later. Ryan lobbied to name him Indiana, but his usually tolerant wife put her foot down.
"There's absolutely no way that's going to fly," she told him. "That's too much."
They reached detente. Their 5 1/2-year-old son, who has his own fedora and toy whip, is named Harrison.
Indiana is the cat. (more...)

spoilers it was just kind of meh. certainly nowhere in the league of raiders, although possibly better than either of the other sequels depending on what exactly you liked about them. the corny jokes work pretty well this go-round, and there's almost an updated feistyness in indy's character compared to the past. there's 2-3 'jump the shark' level moments of complete crap unfortunately, and the ending is just unsatisfying and feels out of place. on the bright side, the action scenes are pretty well done, and the trademark 'punch' sounds remain in place. marian ravenwood. damn. time wasn't nice to her. . overall, for all the things i disliked about it, it didn't feel long and boring, and it never got bad enough to make me check my watch. i guess that's a good thing, but I was expecting something a bit better.

For some reason I've been on a movie spree the past ten days. Iron Man and Narnia II were both better. Iron Man was MUCH better. All of what Aske said plus: * Mediocre plot. * Completely over the top situations. I know the series has been full of these but they went the extra mile this time. * Aliens. WTF? * Completely predictable yet somehow nonsensical. I walked out sorely disappointed.

Well now that I have a chance to sit and give my take..... I have to agree with UB and Aske a bit on this.
I will say at first I did not walk away disapointed. I do feel that the story line was a bit hooky and far fetched, although yes they all were, but this one more. I think Aske said the same thing.
Now as Aske said the action scenes were great and the movie did seem to flow better then the previous 2.
What was not mentioned by anyone is that I feel the Shea LeBuff did well even though I think he is a better actor then the part called for. I think if they do decide to do a spin off if he is allowed to act more his style then they could be better then any Indiana movie before. I wish he had put the hat on at the end.
Overall it was as said, just an OK movie but I still enjoyed it. Could I have waited till DVD? Possibly but I am far more a fan of Indiana Jones then Star Wars and I just had to see this in the theater. Will I buy the DVD? Yes. If there is a spinoff the one thing I and all fans can hope for is that George Lucas does not write the story. I think he is well past his prime and a new breed is needed to give life back to this franchise.

I guess I enjoyed watching the movie because the kids enjoyed watching the movie. I don't think it was any worse than the others. But if your kids like the action sceens of the others, they will probably enjoy this one.
