4 Dollars a gallon means more money for beer.

That's strangely worded. I thought you meant that higher gas prices mean that you'd have more money to buy beer. That would only make sense if you were saying "Damn! Gas is expensive. *fudge* it! I'll just buy beer. Who needs to drive anyway?"

The depressing part of this article is the MSN money calculator that compares how much we spend on gas at the current price -vs- $10 a gallon. If we keep driving the Suburban we could buy a cheap economy car at $10 a gallon. Not that the boys would fit into it in a couple of years with their sports equipment and everything else you have to haul around. But I keep telling myself it is almost paid for, it is almost paid for.........

$10 a gallon in a couple of years, you'll be putting those kids to work to help afford even affording food. they won't have time for sports

~$10 monthly for the train.  I figure it costs me about that per day to drive.  Pretty sweet deal.  Costs me in time though.  90 minutes v. 35.

true, public transportation better hurry up and get its butt out here! They wont be able to afford to drive to work, I was just saying that the other day, when I was younger I would put $10 in the gas tank and it would fill the tank. All $10 will get you today is about 2 1/2 gallons of gas depending on where you live. Kids are working to pay for gas, not even getting extra money to go to the movies with their friends.

We don't need to wait a couple years for that. They already eat like teenagers sometimes. Luckily right now one or two of them does not every night. When they all are hungry at the same time it's like a perfect storm of food consumption/money spending.
