Which way to Beijing?

O.K. so it was a really small town/village 4th of July festival but it was a 10K nonetheless. And since it is an Olympic year they gave out medals.

.........good enough for third place. 40:48 Like I said, small town deal. Good time for me but at any "real" 10K race it's back in the pack.

you couldn't get any farther away in Michigan from where i live. 560 miles Tell me about it! 400+ from Minneapolis. I haven't done a road trip like that since I was a kid. My wife's friend is from the Houghton area and her mom and one of her sisters still live up there. The friend, her sister and her brother bought a cabin on Superior last year and we decided to accept their standing invite to visit.

If I'm going to run that far, there better damn well be something chasing me with the intent to kill and or maim me. I can think of no other good reason. But congrats anyway.

.........good enough for third place. 40:48 Well, pretty good considering you were running in knee-deep snow, right? (I don't even want to think about what my time would be today. Probably around 48 minutes. )

Congratulations on the great time!

That's like a 6.75 40. More like an 8.78, ignoring the unevenness in velocity.
