Aske's avatar reminded me. I've heard nothing but good about this movie. Just curious if anyone here has seen it because it's one that may get my butt to a theater.

yup, we watched it Sat night. while there are a few minor complaints i had about it, it WAY exceeded my hopse/expectations (which were quite high). truly phenomenal and engrossing, and not afraid to be as dark as it should be.

Just last night with some friends. Its very good. I cannot say it exceeded my expectations, but it did meet them. Truly a great performance by Ledger - left me wanting the Joker character on screen more often. Bale's Batman didn't hold my interest like it did in Batman Begins. My problem was I could not look at the Rachel character without thinking about what WWTDD posted about her looks - he was freaking dead on.... and it ruined the character for me

I didn't see the movie, but my kids did, and they loved it. For those that have seen it should Ledger win an Oscar?
The previews with the Joker look fantastic. Does he rival Jack Nicholson?

he destroys nicholson's campy wimpy joker. Definitely darker, but its a function of the movies being better and darker than Burton's versions. Regardless, Ledger still outdid Nicholson in every way. He's a shoe in for an Oscar nomination, whether he wins or not is entirely political - which is why I don't give two *feces*s about Oscars.
